The way the world is evolving today and the standards teachers are help up to are a few of the many reasons technology is used in the classrooms today. Using technology helps students become more advanced in the their learnings and it also makes it easier to help teach a lot of kids at one time. Kids these days much rather read a lecture or do work on a computer rather than sit at a desk and read it out of a book all day.

One of the ISTE standards that is very meaningful to me is the innovative designer . The one standard that is out side of my current goal is global collaborator. Being an innovative designer Im always to work with many different things and bring things together that make sense. I love coming up with new ways to solve problems that every one can come together on and make things easier.
The global collaborator is outside of my goals because you have to work together globally and that means talking to people you don't know across the world. You don't know how they work or if the even share the same kind of thoughts as you.

I personally do not agree with the term digital native for many reasons. One of those reasons being that not everybody born within that time frame of being a digital native has access to technologies like other people may have. Some people also may be raised in a house hold where technology is not aloud to be used. These days to be a digital native means you are born in the time where technology is at its best. Yes, the older you get you can tell the difference between the way you and your teacher vary with technology. The teachers rather use the older versions especially with like computers where is kids my age rather use the new things. I anticipate that things will be like they are now. Technology advances so much over time that the newer generation will know more about it then I will.

  1. Great point about technology access for digital natives. Some households restrict (or even banish) technology for various reasons.

  2. I also continually think and almost worry about becoming seen as technologically behind like I saw my teachers being.

  3. I completely agree with you about the term "digital native". I definitely think that in certain circumstances, such as not having access to that type of technology (strict parents, religious conflicts with it, etc), completely challenges the whole concept of a digital native.
