Two of the standards I feel like i would be able to teach would be doing print or digital text and recounting details from a text. I feel that I'm really good at remembering things that are read to me are that i hear through a media out lite so I would be able to teach younger children this skill. Being able to teach younger children to use the information the receive from illustrations to find out the plot, settings and characters would be easy as well. I could have them read a short story and then tell me each of the things they learned through out the story. I would need to gain more knowledge with using digital tools and electronic menus and such.
I would use the tool and resource for the third grade history lesson plan. I would use this tool because it has a lot of ideas that help kids work together in groups to determine and talk about immigration in the 1900's. This lesson plan would help me focus on the correct things to focus on as the class went on and not get off topic. It has different activities I can do with the students to keep them interested in the subject and have them connect with each other. Things like graphic organizers and videos.
I really liked doing the news letter design assignment. Some of the new skills I learned was adding shading to specific places and being able to add borders as well to certain boxes. I like being able to shade certain things because you can make them stand out if they are really important and need to catch the readers eye. Having borders gives the project more color around the edges so it doesn't look plain. By knowing how to add things like this, when teaching in class you can make your power point slides or note pop.
